Somalia and Afghanistan: the barbarity of Sunni Islam

Somalia and Afghanistan: the barbarity of Sunni Islam

Islamic radicals support stoning women, terrorism, and killing converts to Christianity in Afghanistan and Somalia.  However, central forces also support Islamic Sharia law and killing apostates to Christianity or other non-Muslim faiths.

Somalia is yet another failed state where various Sunni Islamic factions are vying for control.  Just like fellow Islamists in Afghanistan and throughout the world, they hate diversity and Christian minorities are killed frequently in Somalia.  The madness of the “Islamic year zero” is gaining ground because of the global jihadist network and finance and training from fellow Islamists throughout the Middle East.

If democratic nations believe that Somalia is a million miles away then they are mistaken.  After all, many Somalians who reside in America, the United Kingdom, and other democratic nations, are joining radical Islamic terrorist factions in Somalia after being indoctrinated in the West.

Various Islamic factions in Somalia desire to create an Islamic state based on Sharia Islamic law and the brutality of their thinking can be seen by recent events in Somalia. This most notably applies to stoning a young lady to death and beheading a Christian convert from Islam.

However, even moderate forces within the government support the implementation of Islamic Sharia law and it is clear that democracy and civil liberties are not on the table. Instead it is the brutal reality of Islam which is creating fear and barbarity amongst all the chaos of Somalia.

Therefore, the stark reality of modern Somalia is an inefficient government which lacks real power and the limited power it does manage to have is based on the root cause, which is Islam itself.  After all, it is clear that Islam is not creating a flourishing nation in Somalia but like usual it is the root cause for the complete backwardness of Somalia.

Instead of progress and modernization we have all sides supporting laws which infringe on free thinking, democracy, and a society based on equality.  Yes, central forces are much better than al-Shabab and Hizb al-Islam but just like Afghanistan it is clear that another generation is going to be brainwashed and indoctrinated.

Therefore, women will be kept in the shadows and stoning to death and other draconian Islamic laws will keep them chained.  At the same time the minority Christian community will face death at the hands of al-Shabab and Hizb al-Islam and apostates will face the same fate by the so-called central government.

On 7 June, 2010, Ghaith Abdul-Ahad wrote an article for The Guardian newspaper called “How Somalia’s civil war became new front in battle against al-Qaida.”

In the article he quotes from a member of the al-Shabab who states that “One of the reasons for our strong name is not only the war, it’s the strong fierce rule that is based on cutting heads as punishments for the crimes,” he says. “We have gained respect. We implement a strong rule that no one can deviate from which has also made us very popular with Arab and other mujahideen. We have courts all the time that implement sharia, but when we are in the middle of war and the fighter captures the traitors and the apostate soldiers of the government then we implement the sharia immediately and cut the head.”

This clearly shows you the mentality of al-Shabab and other Islamic factions and this is the brutal reality of Islam after all other alternatives have been crushed.  Islamization leads to backwardness, brutal laws, the abandonment of rationality, and any semblance of normality.

Regional nations like Ethiopia and Kenya are deeply worried about events and the international community should have done more to support Ethiopia in the past.  However, both regional nations and the international community understand the need to contain al-Shabab and Hizb al-Islam because global Islamic jihadists threaten to destabilize the region and much further afield.

Yet just like Afghanistan, it is hard to see any end product because while the need to contain Islamic jihad is essential.  It is also vital to create “a new society” but this isn’t happening and despite tens of billions of dollars being spent on Afghanistan it is clear that you have no end product.

For the reality of modern day Afghanistan is that the central government also supports killing apostates from Islam and crushing the rights of women.  Yes, just like the regime in Saudi Arabia, they don’t mind non-Muslims defending them but of course they still deem non-Muslims to be infidels and unclean.

Therefore, unless “Islam” is taken out of the power base you appear to have little hope in the future.  Given this, why aren’t Western donors supporting secular education in Afghanistan and laws which are based on secularism and freeing women from their daily bondage?

Are American, British, and NATO troops dying for maintaining Islam and supporting the implementation of Islamic Sharia law and the development of other Islamic institutions in Afghanistan because this is “a new liberal containment policy?”

If so, the war is already lost because it means that future generations in Afghanistan will be indoctrinated and all modernization of the economy will be given credit to Islam instead of Western donors.  This also applies to Somalia because like Afghanistan it is clear that central forces are much better than Islamists who want to spread their jihad to other nations.

Yet in the long term it appears that central forces will do little to change society and while Somalia is weak because of the ongoing chaos and lack of institutions with any power.  It is still apparent that “a Japanese doctrine” is not being implemented in Afghanistan.

This applies to allied powers enforcing a democratic process on Japan and taking central power away from the forces which unleashed so much barbarity in the 1930s and which lasted until the end of World War Two. The same can be said about eradicating NAZI ideology but when it comes to tackling a similar but more potent Islamic ideology then nothing is being done, apart from containing Islamic jihadists but maintaining Islamic control via newly selected leaders.

Therefore, the choice is stark, either the international community must focus on the real root cause of such barbarity and backwardness, or nothing will change?  However, given the political correct agenda of modern Western nations it would appear that the only goal is to stem the tide of Islamic terrorists while preserving the rule of Islam.

Surely this thinking is leading to a dead-end because instead of taking brave measures in order to break the chain of Islamic indoctrination, we are just seeing the status quo.  Yet the status quo means killing apostates, keeping women in chains, and indoctrinating the next generation and clearly this policy is leading to a dead-end.

Pakistan – Sunni Islamists attack females for studying

PAKISTAN — Sunni Islamists attack females for studying

By Lee Jay Walker
THE MODERN TOKYO TIMES

Schoolgirls in Pakistan

The nation of Pakistan is currently in crisis because many parts of this nation are out of control and central forces can do little to stem the tide of Sunni Islamic hatred. Given this reality, the Taliban and other radical Sunni Muslim organizations have warned young females from obtaining an education. This policy is not related to the government of Pakistan but the government of this nation must be held accountable for not protecting females and teachers.

Instead this barbaric policy is being introduced by radical Sunni Islamic forces who desire to rule by fear. Attacks which began to increase in 2009 have continued in 2010 and schools have been bombed by pro-Taliban forces.  Therefore, how can Pakistan and other nations stop this madness and mass cruelty?

Of course the political correct liberals in the West and the “well meaning” who try to excuse every crime committed by these fanatics, remain mainly silent when issues like this occur. Therefore, we hear so much about Guantanamo Bay but what about the dark forces of radical Sunni Islam, why don’t we get more information about this global reality?

Yes, Guantanamo Bay can be questioned because of the violation of international law. Yet what about informing people about the brutal ideology of radical Sunni Islam? After all, they support the persecution of women, killing homosexuals, killing converts from Islam, stoning people to death for adultery, closing female schools, killing teachers who teach females, and many other barbaric and draconian measures.

Yet the political correct who were aghast by Guantanamo Bay, say very little about the reality of radical Sunni Islam. Therefore, today we are seeing a new wave of radical Sunni Islam in parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan once more. This means a new drive against women in order to maintain a firm male grip over society. However, the mass media, on the whole, appears to be asleep on this issue and feminists remain mainly silent and the same applies to moderate Muslims who only see Islam in a positive light?

Therefore, in the early part of the 21st century we are witnessing a militant Sunni Islamic ideology which supports destroying schools which teach females, killing teachers who teach young girls, and other brutal methods in order to rule by fear.  This is being done in the name of Islam and this barbaric way of thinking appears to be gaining ground and minorities also fear persecution, therefore, Ahmadiyya Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, and others, fear an “Islamic year zero.”

This mindset somehow appears to be growing in parts of Pakistan and the hands of funding from Saudi Arabia and other draconian nations is enabling this.  Alas, the liberal mass media wants to say little or excuse every possible crime which is being done in the name of Sunni Islam.

To the followers of this radical Sunni Islamic ideology, they deem the killing of innocents and ruling by fear to be Godly. In their eyes it is right to humiliate and persecute women, Shia Muslims, Ahmadiyya Muslims, Christians, Hindus, and Sikhs; kill converts who leave Sunni Islam; to chop hands and feet off for minor crimes; to stone women to death for adulter;, and so forth. This ideology is similar to Nazism, it is about the destruction of all alternative thought patterns and it is based on ruling by fear.

This radical Sunni Islamic Sharia state which is desired by Islamists would mean a return to an age of complete barbarity. If a political movement in any developed nation rose up like this, then all liberals and democrats would be aghast, however, many parts of the mass media are ignoring the reality of what radical Sunni Islam means. Therefore, without any major political desire, this problem will be left unchallenged and females will be the first victims and after them the rest will follow.

Given this, the government of Pakistan and outside nations must work closely together in order to support the most vulnerable in society. Pakistan also must close down all radical religious schools because these schools are breeding grounds for radical Islamists who indoctrinate very young people. Therefore, the “real war” must be the control of “education and welfare services.”

America and NATO are now bogged down in Afghanistan because Islamic Sunni militants can freely move between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Yet while the military is needed to prevent the Taliban from taking power; this policy must be more dimensional. Secular schools are needed and all welfare services must be taken over by both central governments. At the same time, all moderate Sunni religious leaders must work alongside the government in order to stop the next generation from being brainwashed.

Education and the welfare sector is the “real war” and the central governments of Afghanistan and Pakistan must be supported in these vital areas. The world must act and it must act alongside moderate forces within Afghanistan and Pakistan. If not, then this radical Sunni Islamic movement will threaten other societies and nations, for example Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nigeria, and others.

In modern day Afghanistan and Pakistan you have many people who face persecution. This applies to females who merely want to go to school, Shia Muslims who face enormous persecution, moderate Sunni Muslims, different sects within Islam, converts to Christianity or other faiths, and so forth. The NAZI style methodology of radical Sunni Islam is clearly very potent and just like in NAZI Germany, all alternative points of views are deemed to be punishable by death or other forms of coercion by the use of brute force.

If Afghanistan and Pakistan, alongside outside nations, can not protect females throughout all of society, then who can be protected from these dark forces? The battle ground is clear for all to see, it is about the control of the education sector and welfare sector. At the same time, internal corruption must be ended via genuine reforms and international financial support must be aimed at creating “a just society” and not just window dressing.

Of course this will not be easy, but the military option by itself is not viable and the same applies to maintaining the current status quo. Major institutions in both nations need to be changed alongside greater centralization where central power is very weak. Also, moderate Sunni Muslim clerics must come forward because radical Sunni Islam desires to destroy everything, including the diversity of Sunni Islam. The Taliban and other organizations desire a world where women are stoned to death for adultery and where women remain in the shadows; this radical ideology needs to be challenged by all forces which support humanity, if not, this crisis will grow and spread.

USA and CIA helped to create Sunni Islamic terrorism

USA and CIA helped to create Sunni Islamic terrorism

By Lee Jay Walker
Tokyo Correspondent  –  THE SEOUL TIMES

 THE MODERN TOKYO TIMES

Terrorism struck the heart of America.  Does anyone remember the legacy of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton?

The United States of America is clearly responsible for the dire situation in modern day Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the consequences of this is that global Sunni Islamic jihadists are still bent on causing more mayhem. So why did ex-President Jimmy Carter, and other leaders of America, develop such a pro-Sunni Islamic terrorist network? Also, why aren’t past leaders like Jimmy Carter and ex-National Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, being made accountable for their failed policies?

Of course it is true that radical Islam is not a new concept and Sunni Islamic forces have used terror and war since the 7th century. After all, you will find very few traces of Christianity in modern day North Africa outside of Egypt and the same applies to Buddhism in modern day Afghanistan. Similar statements can be used about the defeat of Zoroastrianism by Islamic forces or the ongoing marginalization of Hinduism in modern day Pakistan.

Yes, “Islamic apologists” will point the finger at past Christian misdeeds in South America, and so forth, or they will make up a multitude of excuses. However, in the 21st century we are still witnessing the ongoing Islamic jihad movement and this movement desires to crush religious liberty, freedom, democracy, the rights of women, and the richness of diversity.

Yet the real tragedy is simple, because democratic forces, creeping secularism, moderate versions of Islam, and so forth, were springing up throughout the Middle East and much further afield where Muslims were a majority. Therefore, in nations like Indonesia the Christian faith was allowed to spread and Muslims and Christians had a united bond, this bond was humanity.

It appeared that the “notion of Islamic jihad” was on the wane, just like radical Christian forces had been challenged by new ideas in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Therefore, pan-Arabism, socialism, and other forces, alongside passive Islam, was changing the make-up of society.

This is an over-simplification because the topic is so vast, however, new laws were being implemented in nations like Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Pakistan, Tunisia, Syria, and a host of other mainly Muslim nations, whereby greater freedoms were being enforced. So just like Europe, which once had its brutal Catholic-Protestant inter-wars, a new era looked liked it was going to “dawn.”

However, this era was soon about to collapse but the reasons behind this collapse are galling because the hands of America and Saudi Arabia can be found everywhere. Therefore, let us now focus on the unleashing of Sunni Islamic “dark forces” via American and Saudi Arabian sponsorship of terrorism.

To place an exact date is complex because links between America and radical Sunni Islamic forces run deep but it is clear that democratic forces, nationalistic movements, pan-Arabism, socialism, and other more moderate forces were seen to be the enemy. For example, Egypt went from being secular under Nasser to adopting Islamic laws under the pro-American, Anwar Sadat.

The same scenario would happen in Pakistan because America welcomed General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq who took power in the late 1970s. Therefore, Pakistan was transformed into a more Islamized nation whereby laws and other institutions would be Islamized. In time the USA would strengthen their ties with Zia-ul-Haq in order to fund the Islamic insurgency in Afghanistan.

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) implemented Operation Cyclone and this policy was aimed at supporting the Afghan Mujahideen during the Soviet war in Afghanistan. Jimmy Carter and Zbigniew Brzezinski began a new policy whereby America would support radical Islam in the full knowledge that this meant supporting terrorism and a movement which supported killing all apostates from Islam and persecuting women.

Just like Jimmy Carter and Zbigniew Brzezinski, the next leader of America, Ronald Reagan, would continue this policy. Jimmy Carter stated that “The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan is the greatest threat to peace since the Second World War.” However, the greatest threat to global peace was America and the Sunni Islamic terrorist movement which was funded by the CIA and other important American operatives.

For unlike communism or pan-Arabism, or other political ideologies, these movements are temporary. Yet radical Islam had sprouted up throughout history after periods of relative decline and it is not a movement which can be switched on and off. After all, we are talking about a radical ideology which is fused with religion and this makes it more potent.

Therefore, both political parties in America were involved in the funding of radical Sunni Islam. People like Michael G. Vickers, a Special Forces NCO, was commissioned by the CIA to support radical Islamic forces. Of major importance was coordination and launching attacks against the Soviet Union which would prove to be successful. Given this, Vickers, and other covert operatives, would train terrorists and in time they would unleash a force that could not be contained.

The CIA’s regional head, Gustav Avrakotos, alongside people like Charlie Wilson, Gordan Humphrey, Fred Ikle, William Casey, Joanne Herring, and a host of others, were all responsible in spreading radical Islam in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Therefore, the “dark forces” of radical Sunni Islam were being unified via enormous funding and military training. So the CIA, political leaders, and the people mentioned above, would all play their role in the future destabilization of Afghanistan and Pakistan and in making September 11th happen.

Of instrumental importance was Pakistan and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) unit which would work hand-in-hand with the CIA and other covert networks. Other nations were also involved, including the British, because MI6 and the SAS, would help to train Islamic terrorists and of course Saudi Arabia would provide ample funds in order to spread radical Sunni Islam.

Therefore, America, China, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, funded “the year zero Islamic jihadists” for different reasons. For China, it was based on hostile factors related to the Soviet Union. Yet it is clear that America and Saudi Arabia were instrumental in spreading radical Islam and of course the British “tail” also “wagged” in order to appease Washington.

Between 1981-1987 the USA provided over US$3.2 billion dollars and this was followed by a further $4.2 billion dollars. More important, the CIA, MI6, the SAS, and other covert agencies, were involved in training radical Islamists. The outcome being a multi-ethnic jihadist movement which would be armed and trained by America, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and others, but with America and Saudi Arabia being the cornerstone, and with Pakistan being the unifying factor because of geopolitical factors.

So major Sunni Islamic warlords like Gulbuddin Hekmatyar would be funded and trained. Hekmatyar in turn would develop relations with Osama Bin Laden and al-Qaeda and the nucleus of this would come by helping Maktab al-Khadamat.

The late Benazir Bhutto stated that “You are creating a Frankenstein.” Benazir Bhutto stated this when she met President George H. W. Bush in the late 1980s. This “Frankenstein” would certainly come back to haunt America and Pakistan, and of course undermine Afghanistan to this day.

Given this, then it is abundantly clear that the killing of Christian converts from Islam, stoning women to death, flogging people, chopping hands and feet off because of Islamic Sharia punishments, were all tolerated by America and the people who supported radical Islam in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. So why no accountability, after all, America supports war crimes in the Balkans but why not try past America leaders or CIA operatives, and others, who have unleashed mayhem and disaster?

Even today, America is “turning a blind eye” towards Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan and Pakistan are in crisis. Yet look at the people on the ground, it is women who now fear persecution in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is minorities, like Shia Muslims, Christians, Ahmadiyya’s, and others, who face death daily or the fear of persecution.

September 11th, the destruction of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the spread of radical Islam to moderate nations like Indonesia, can all be blamed on past American leaders and names that I have mentioned already. So why aren’t these people facing the consequences of their actions?

For they have unleashed “a potent” and radical Sunni Islamic movement which is destroying the fabric of society in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Just like the same Islamists caused mayhem and bloodshed in Algeria and other parts of the world. The road to September 11th and “year zero Islamic jihadists” was created by the forces of America and Saudi Arabia, alongside other important players like Pakistan. Yet what about real accountability and “the real story being told?”
